CÖLN COMIC HAUS
85 Years of Marvel
By the end of 2023, I had the honor of being commissioned by     the Cöln Comic Haus to design the logo for their 85 Years of Marvel exhibition, launching in March 2024 and running through June 2025.   They envisioned a logo that feels more like an artwork than a traditional brand design, destined to feature on flyers, posters, stickers, and beyond.
For the featured Marvel character, I chose Ben Grimm, a.k.a. "The Thing". The exhibition aimed to highlight not only superheroes but also the rich history of Marvel's monster comics. Additionally, it sought to spotlight franchises like The Fantastic Four, which have been somewhat overlooked in modern movies. I felt that "The Thing" was the perfect choice—he’s both recognizable and niche enough to bridge these themes.
To emphasize this connection to classic comics, I framed him in a vintage "Comic Corner Box", a design element commonly used on old comic book covers

The illustration is heavily inspired by the iconic style of comic artist Jack Kirby
This project is still ongoing, with the exhibition recently extended—so stay tuned for more to come!
